Support & Fundraising
Most of you will already know that Waltham Forest Council has successfully bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to help further develop the William Morris Gallery.
This is where the Friends come in. We have all been asked to help raise the money needed to turn the dream into reality.
The aim is to create a first class visitor facility and a centre of excellence for the study of William Morris and the Arts and Crafts Movement. It is an exciting opportunity to see the development of the Gallery with extended exhibition space, better storage facilities for the reserve collection and an enhanced educational space and programme of activities.
The project will help to create a sustainable future for this beautiful building and its highly important collections.
We need to raise matched funding of £1,000,000 by this year so dig deep and spread the word!
Your committee has already agreed to donate £10,000 from the Friends’ funds and we will be making approaches to a variety of funding bodies.
But individual donations and money-raising activities are also necessary if we are to reach the target.
All ideas are welcome.
